Shooter
Yesterday was about honor.
Today is about
justice.
Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) was sent on a mission to
Ethiopia-in hopes that he would never come back. Left to die,
and infuriated, Swagger lived; but the nightmare he went
through was still very much alive...even three years later.
Finding himself high up in the mountains with only his Marine
Sniper rifles and a faithful dog Sam, Swagger was happy. Until
the government (Danny Glover) came knocking on his door; with
of course, no courtesy.
The F.B.I. believes that an assasination attempt will be
made on the President of the United States on the day that he
speaks in public with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. It was
just another joke pulled out of the government's bag of tricks.
Framed, bleeding, and considered an armed and dangerous
fugitive, Swagger overpowers a F.B.I. agent
fresh out of the academy, and drives his car over a
bridge.
After doing the only thing he was taught to do--stay
alive--Swagger heads to an old Marine buddy's widow for help.
Meanwhile, the humiliated F.B.I. agent Nick Memphis
(Michael Pena) is in big trouble with the powers above him, and
is framed himself. But Swagger won't let a good, honest agent
go to waste. Swagger recruits Memphis and teaches him the
basics: pay attention, and excercise his right to bear arms.
And Swagger is not afraid to do the latter. Because no one esle
understood the concept.
