X-Men Origins: Wolverine

After fighting for his country for 150 years, it's time he learned to really defend it...and everything in it which he loved.

When Logan was introduced in X-Men, he was the wandering loner without a memory card. Wolverine takes us back, long before Charles Xavier was even born. Back to 1846...

James was always sick, and he got the rap for it from Victor Creed, a boy close to his age who stays with James. When Victor's father, Logan's half brother, Thomas, comes home drunk (again) and murders James's father; James, infuriated, sticks the recently (as of a nanosecond ago) discovered claws into the drunk Thomas, who, in a moment of pain-induced soberness, gapes at James and whispers "He wasn't your father, son..."

Scared to death, James and Victor make a mad dash for the woods, and they don't come back.

They fight every war from the Civil to Kuwait, survive firing squads and jungle chopper rides, the brothers split after annihilating an African village under the orders of William Stryker (Danny Huston); when James (now Logan) decides he's had enough of murder. A few years later finds Logan (Hugh Jackman) in the Canadian Rockies with a job as a lumberjack and a beautiful girlfriend (Lynn Collins) who knows what he is, and loves him for it. But Stryker isn't finished with Logan yet. He offers Logan another position, but Logan kindly tells Stryker and his 'dog', Agent Zero, to turn around and get out. As we all know, Stryker doesn't take 'no' for an answer.

Meanwhile, afraid that someone will leak the horrors they've committed, Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber) hunts down every agent in the troop Stryker led, killing them one by one. Also on his agenda: find mutants with worthy talents, (they aren't gifts, for gifts can be taken back) capture them, and bring them back to 3 Mile Island, where Stryker is collecting their DNA to make a superweapon. But when Sabretooth strays from the path and murders Logan's girlfriend, Logan is ready and willing to be filled with adamantium to become indestructable--all in the name of revenge.

Now the real war is on.

Logan begins the hunt for Sabretooth, but is also being chased by Stryker at the same time, because Logan overheard Stryker's plans to wipe his memory, and he ran away. Remy LeBeau, alias Gambit, (Taylor Kitsch) is the only mutant to have ever escaped from 3 Mile Island, so Logan goes to shine some truth into his noggin via--Logan has to get there and stop Stryker. But when Sabretooth gets in the way, the objective was originally battle to the death. But Gambit blasts his way into the fight and Sabretooth gets away. Gambit battles Logan, but ultimately agrees to get Logan where he nees to be.

The ultimate fight ensues after Weapon XI is released into the throes of the escape off of 3 Mile Island. Between Weapon XI, Sabretooth, and the Wolverine, death for one or death for all is the only rule of the fight. Because Sabretooth will not allow anyone to kill Logan--except for himself, of course.

Combining action, cunning, and mutant power, Wolverine is the ultimate X-Men thriller.
